Biographical Description

Abraham Goldstein was born on January 2, 1898, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The son of Jewish immigrants from Poland, Goldstein was a lifelong Wilmington resident and merchant who led a movement to combat profiteering and overinflation in food, clothing, and housing in post-war (World War I) Wilmington. He died in Wilmington on July 9, 1972.
