Biographical Description

Alexander Worth McAlister was born on March 21, 1862, in Asheboro, North Carolina. McAlister was an insurance executive in Greensboro who served as a member of the State Board of Public Welfare (1916-1944). During World War I, he served as the Federal Fuel Administrator for the state. McAlister died in Greensboro on November 20, 1946.
