Biographical Description

Edward Griffith was a resident of colonial Craven County. He served as a militia officer and as the private secretary to royal governor Gabriel Johnston from 1742 up through 1750. In 1755, he joined other merchants, traders, and planters in petitioning the Board of Trade for relief on trade restrictions.
