Biographical Description

Charles Wallace Tatem was born on September 25, 1876, in North Carolina. Tatem was a civil engineer for the Branning Manufacturing Company in Columbia (Tyrrell County), North Carolina, who served as chairman of the Tyrrell County Exemption Board during World War I. He went on to serve seven terms as a state legislator representing Tyrrell County. Tatem died in Columbia on March 24, 1958.
