Biographical Description

William Thaddeus Shaw was born on October 20, 1861 in Halifax County, North Carolina. Shaw was a textile businessman connected with the Weldon Cotton Manufacturing Co. and the Shaw Cotton Mills, both in Weldon, North Carolina. During World War I, he served as chairman of the Halifax County Exemption Board. Shaw died in Goldsboro (Wayne County) on May 29, 1950.
