Biographical Description

Alexander Bruce Bielaski was born on April 2, 1883, in Montgomery County, Maryland. Bielaski was a career civil servant with the Department of Justice. He served as chief of the Bureau of Investigation—the predecessor agency of the modern day FBI—from April 1912 to February 1919. Bielaski died in Great Neck, New York, on February 19, 1964.
