Claude Gore was born on July 19, 1878, in North Carolina. Gore was a man of some political influence, having held the presidency of various cotton mills in Richmond County. He additionally served as president of the Bank of Rockingham and President of the Country Bankers Association of North Carolina. He was a son of Daniel Lenox Gore. He died in Rockingham (Richmond County) on July 30, 1944.
