Biographical Description

Matthew Lamb (circa 1705 - 1768) was a British bureaucrat and legal adviser to British aristocrats. He served as counsel for the Board of Trade from 1746 until his death in 1768. As counsel, he interpreted policy and colonial law and weighed the interests of the colonial assemblies with those of the crown.
