Thomas Clingman Inscore was born on May 7, 1895, in Yadkin County, North Carolina. Inscore was a farmer working for his mother when he registered for the draft (World War I) in June 1917. He was called to service on August 31, 1918, but it is unclear if he was ever formally inducted into the service. Inscore died in Winston-Salem (Forsyth County) on March 13, 1987.
