Biographical Description
William Furnifold Marshall was born March 30, 1861, in Franklin County, North Carolina. Marshall was a prominent newspaperman and publisher. In the fall of 1917, during World War I, he served as director of military enrollment. Marshall died in Raleigh on October 14, 1943.
