Biographical Description

Samuel Jarvis (d. 1783) was a resident of Currituck County who served as a Colonel of the Currituck County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia throughout the course of the American Revolution. He also represented the county politically for several years as a member of the provincial congress and North Carolina General Assembly. In 1777 he received depositions from several individuals about loyalist activities happening in the county.
