John Garrett Jr. (b. aft. 1757) was a resident of Tyrrell County. In 1777, likely after being recruited by his father, John Garrett Jr. swore an oath before Daniel Leggett and became a member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy. He later witnessed his relative Stephen Garrett take the oath as well under a mulberry tree at Thomas Harrison's home. There members of the plot discussed resisting the military draft and the need for gunpowder. No further evidence has been found suggesting that Garrett made a deposition after the plot was discovered or that any charged were filed against him.
