Biographical Description

Christopher Neil (d. 1784) was the clerk of the Craven County Court. In that position, he helped process the charges filed against Nathan Mayo for the murder of Thomas Clark in 1777. He was also responsible for collecting oaths of allegiance to the State of North Carolina from all white adult men in the county.
