William James Grandin was born Tidioute, Pennsylvania, on October 16, 1871. Grandin was a businessman who served as the president of the Watauga and Yadkin Valley Railroad Company and as president of the Grandin Lumber Company. He died in Tidioute on December 30, 1920.
