Biographical Description
William Ernest Black was born in Maxton (Robeson County), North Carolina, on July 1, 1856. Black was a prominent attorney in Maxton who later changed careers to become a Presbyterian minister, serving communities largely in and around Charlotte. He died in Cumberland County on November 23, 1927.
