Benjamin Debow was born in North Carolina sometime after 1747. The younger brother of Frederick Debow, a captain in the Caswell County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia, he joined his brother's light horse unit, likely in 1780 or 1781. Benjamin Debow later moved to Jessamine County, Kentucky and died sometime after 1810.
