Biographical Description
Ellen Louisa Cantwell (née Deming) was born in North Carolina on November 23, 1828. A member of Wilmington society's social scene, she married Edward Payne Cantwell in 1848 and the couple at at least five known children. She died in Wilmington on September 18, 1875.
