William Hill was born in Anson County, North Carolina on September 7, 1804. A farmer in Anson County, he helped his mother Huldah pursue a widow's pension for his father's involvement in the Revolutionary War. He moved to Alabama sometime after 1840. He died in Chambers County, Alabama on April 23, 1853.
