Robert Bailey was born in Montgomery County in 1807. A resident of Bath County, Kentucky, he worked as a shoemaker. The son of a Revolutionary War veteran, Bailey served as a reference for his aunt Mary Yarborough's pension application, attesting that he believed his uncle Randolph Yarborough was also a veteran. He died in Bath County on March 8, 1852.
