Thompson Epperson was born in Virginia in about 1757. During the American Revolution he served six months as a private alongside William Guest in the Wilkes County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia under Captain Moses Guest. He later served in the Virginia Militia. He moved to Franklin County, Georgia in 1790, where he resided until his death on June 9, 1836.
