Sidney Breese was born in Whitesboro, New York on July 15, 1800. A lawyer in Illinois, he served as a district attorney and judge for several different courts in Illinois over his long legal career. He represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat from 1843 to 1849 and later became a judge on the Illinois Supreme Court. He died in Perry County, Illinois on June 27, 1878.
