Hamilton Glover Ewart was born in Columbia, South Carolina on October 23, 1849. A longtime resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Ewart was an attorney, jurist, and politician who served as a state legislator (1887 session) and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1889-1891). He relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1916, where he died on April 28, 1918.
