George Birkenhead was a resident of Bath County, North Carolina by 1703. That year he and several other colonists in the area supported a petition requesting that the colonial government of North Carolina prevent further violence between them and the Tuscarora. He later resided in Pamptecough, west of present-day Bath, where he died by May 1713.
