Biographical Description

Jabez Tom was an American Indian man who was either indentured or enslaved as a servant to Charles Harrison and John Baptista Ashe. In February 1722 Jabez Tom ran away and found shelter at Thomas Martin's in Bath County, North Carolina until August 1722. No further records about the case have been located, so whether Jabez Tom had to return to servitude or not is unclear.
