Biographical Description

Charles Moore was a resident of Perquimans County, North Carolina. An owner of enslaved people, in 1759 Moore served on the local freeholders' court, which heard cases involving enslaved people. Moore later represented Perquimans at the 4th North Carolina Provincial Congress and served as the local sheriff from 1783 to 1785. He died in Perquimans in about 1789.
