John Thatch was a resident of Chowan County, North Carolina by 1747. Later he became a resident of nearby Perquimans County, North Carolina. In 1759 one of Thatch's enslaved people, a man named Ben, was found guilty of robbery. Thatch died in Perquimans sometime between 1777 and 1779.
