Biographical Description

Absolom Alphin was a resident of colonial North Carolina. In 1759, when an enslaved man named Ben broke out of the Perquimans County jail, Alphin was one of the two men that recaptured him. The court later paid Alphin for this service. Alphin died in Chowan County, North Carolina in January 1762.
