Biographical Description

William Taylor was a resident of colonial North Carolina. In about 1740 he purchased William Derry, a person of color, from Godfrey Hunt of Nansemond County, Virginia. Derry later petitioned the North Carolina Court, arguing that he ought to be free. Any further information about Taylor has not been located.
