Nicholas Farmer was a resident of Johnston County, North Carolina. Farmer was an owner of enslaved people, including a man named Jacob. According to the minutes of a 1779 trial, Jacob consulted with a local mystical healer to influence Farmer into treating Jacob more kindly. Farmer died in Johnston by 1797.
