Stephen Langley was a resident of Hyde County, North Carolina. In 1756 he testified before the local freeholders' court regarding Daniel, an enslaved African American man accused of poisoning Elizabeth Eborne. Langley likely had a close personal relationship with the Eborne family, as in 1759 he witnessed Elizabeth's husband Littleton's will. Langley may have later become a resident of Beaufort County, North Carolina, dying sometime after 1790.
