Biographical Description

Mallett, Tulloch, and Estes were a trading company established by Peter Mallett, Thomas Tulloch, and John Estes. In operation during the American Revolution, the trading firm, founded by three North Carolinian merchants, supplied the State of North Carolina and North Carolina's Patriot troops with supplies during the war. The firm also purchased enslaved laborers such as Frank, who worked on behalf of the company. In 1779 the company was named in a trial in Johnston County, North Carolina, when Frank was found guilty of trying to practice witchcraft.
