Biographical Description

Thomas Combs (d. 1780) was a resident of Tyrrell County. In 1777 he served as security on bonds for Thomas Harrison Jr. and Jerosiah Everett, who both had to appear before the Court of Oyer & Terminer at Edenton to testify about their involvement in the Gourd Patch Conspiracy. The next month, Daniel Leggett testified that Combs swore two oaths of secrecy and was a member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy.
