Biographical Description

John Edward Sterling Thorpe was born on January 29, 1885, in Cheshire, England. Thorpe was general superintendent of the Tallassee Power Company plant in Badin, North Carolina, from 1915 to 1922. He died in Asheville on February 24, 1950.
