I William Hill Secretary of State in and for the State aforesaid do hereby certify that it appears from the musterrolls of the continental line of this State in the revolutionary war, that John Hill a private Soldier in [intentionally blank] company of the 10th. Regiment enlisted on the 17th. day of March 1776, for three years, and was discharged on the 1st. day of February 1780.

Given under my hand at Raleigh this 8th. day of February 1838.
