Mingo a Negro man of Mr: Crisps being Examin'd Saith That on the same Sunday about three hours in the Night the sd: Cush jogg'd his Master's Sambo, upon which they both went out and whisper'd; Soon after this Examinant call'd the said Cush out and ask what he wanted with his fellow Servant Sambo, upon which he Answer'd he was Come to fetch him away, & that he had brought a spare horse to carry him to his Master's house & by his order soon after which he went over the Creek with the sd: Negro Sambo in order (as he beleived & understood) to take horse and carry him off, and that they carryed with them, One New Rugg one New shirt, a pair of Leather britches, one Hatt & Cap, two Coats a Jackett a pair of Shooes & Stockins. This Examint: farther saith that sometime before that the sd: Cush came to his Master's house & that Sambo (the Negro he Carryed off) told him some little time before that Paul Palmer came where he was at work on his Master's Plantation & ask'd him if he'd go with him & used Severall means & promises to seduce him to it, but the sd: Sambo say'd he was Lame & had hurt his foot & could not upon which the said Palmer ask'd: if he should send a man & horse whether he would then go, he then reply'd he did not know but he might and farther saith not.
