I Edward MackSwain one of his Majesties Justices Assigned to keep the peace in and for the said County I hereby send you the Body of a Negro felow Named Daniel belonging to Mr Littleton Eborne for Divers Crimes and Missdeameanors Done and Acted Against the peace of our Sovereign Lord the King—These Especially for the Sad Negro Daniel for Murdering his Late Mistress Elizabeth which was the wife of Mr Littleton Eborne by Cutting of a Rattle Snakes head and Drying it to Powder and Giving it to her in her Victuals and Drink whch he this Day has been Charged with and proved against him—

These are therefore in his Majesties Name to Command you on Sight to Receive into your Safe Custody the Safe Negro Daniel until he Shall be Deliverd from thence by Due Course of Law herein fail not as your Perrill as you will answer your Contempt and for your so Doing this Shall be your Authority Given from under my hand and Seal this 7th. Day of June 1756—
