Whereas we the subscribers summoned agreeable to law on the Tryal of a negro ^man^ named will belongd to Georg Corneige Liveing at Tar River which sd. negro named Will hath bene convicted by lawfull evidence of fellowniusly braking open houses and stealing to the value of ten pounds sterling money of Great Britain for for which Centance of Death is Past against ^hum^ Persuant to an Act ^Law^ of this Province we are impowred & directed to set a Just Value on sd. Negro: which we have Valued to forty Pounds Proclamation Money: as witness our Hands and Seals This 15th Day of December 1748—
