HEADQUARTERS 317TH FIELD ARTILLERY
Camp Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
September 29, 1917.

FROM: Lt. M. R. Faulkner, Regimental Surgeon, 317th F. A.

TO: Commanding Officer, 317th F. A.

SUBJECT: Physical condition of drafted men.

1. Report concerning drafted men from Exemption Board at Fayettsville, Cumberland County, N. C. The signature of J. W. McNeill, M. D. is on each form No. 14, P. M. G. O., as examining physician.

2. There were twelve men in the party reporting here on Friday, Sept. 28, 1917, and I have referred eight of them to Division Surgeon with reccomendations that they be rejected.

The condition of some of these men was so very apparent that even a layman should have known their disabilities were such as to disqualify them for military service.
