LOCAL SURGEON TO SOUTHERN RAILWAY

SELMA, N.C., Jan 22nd, 1919

Hon. T. W. Bickett,
Raleigh, N.C.

My dear Governor,

I am enclosing some papers concerning the young man John W. Pearce, who deserted from the army about one year ago and who on the strength of your amnesty proclamation returned to Camp Jackson in July 1918. He is now a prisoner at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. You will recall that I spoke to you about it sometime ago. I wish you would use your best efforts to get him out.

Very truly yours,

R. J. Noble
