Sir,

The Lords Commissioners of his Majesty's Treasury are pleased to direct me to acquaint you that tho the persons acting here as Agents for your Province do not appear to be Authorized to receive the Proportion alloted by the King to that Province of the Money granted by Parliament in the year 1757 in recompence of the Military services ^of Virginia, No. & So. Carolina^ in that year My Lord chuse rather to Issue the money to them on their giving proper Security for the due Payment thereof to Such person or persons as shall be empowered by the Govr. Council & Assembly to receive the Same for the use of the sd. Province than to let the Money continue any longer in the Excheqr. where it is useless to the Province and to every other purpose My Lords desire however that you will use your endeavours that proper ⅌sons may be empowerd to receive Such Monies as Parliament hereafter may think fit to grant for the Service of the Said Province that there may be no delay in the Issuing thereof,
