Personally appeared before me James Roberts one of the acting Justices of the peace in and for said County and state aforesaid, John Allison, Aged Eighty three years, January last; and after being first Duly sworn according to law, saith on his Oath, that he was Bornd in Irland about the first of the year 1768. That he came with his father, to the united States when he was about ten years of Age, that his father settled at that time, in Macklenburgh County in the state of North Carolina not fare from Charlotte Court House at which time he become personally well acquainted with John Alexander and wife Susan, for they was near neighbours and living togather as husband and wife and Deponant understood that John Alexander had been in the service, and that he the said John Alexander and Deponants father was both Drafted and went into the service in the North Carolina Militia. Deponants father was taken prisoner at Charleston South Carolina. Deponant well Recollets that the said John Alexander was absent from home a grate Deal, and was said to be in the service, but How many towers or how long the said Alexander was in the service. Deponant is not able to say, but he knows that the sad John Alexander was always Reputed to have been a faithfull Soldier and a true patriot. That he was well acquainted ^with^ Susan Alexander the wife of the said John Alexander while she was at Home and her husband in the service, that he well Recollect, the Circumstance, of the said Susan Alexander being Instrumental, in saving the life of Captian Joseph graham who was wounded by the Britch near Charlotte Court House and suposed to be Dead. That she the said Susan Alexander found the said Joseph graham and taken ^him^ Home to her own House washed and Dressed his wounds, and taken Care of him untill he was able to be Carried off which She Did herself on a little poney that she had. Of the above fact, Deponant has a personal Knowledge, and that they ware told to Deponant, by Captain Joseph graham himself, what Mrs Alexander had Don for him, that the said Susan Alexander who is yet a Resident of Macklenburgh County in the State of North Carolina, who is now applying for a pension for the Services of her late husband the aforesaid John Alexander is the Identical widow of the said John Alexander: Sworn to and subscrib'd this 21th. Day of September 1851 before me,

I James Roberts the Magistrate before whome the forgoing Affidavit, was made Do Hereby Certify that John Allison whose name appeares who sworn to and subscribed the same this Day before me is a man of good Charractor. Whose verasity is undisputable. This 21st. Day of September 1851.
