July 10th, 1919.

Mr. Frank Armfield,
Concord, N.C.

My dear Frank:-

I thank you for your very informing letter of July 9th. It seems now that Ritchie will abandon his undertaking to organize an order of any kind in North Carolina. He was in the office yesterday and I gave him to understand that I had his measure and suggested to him that it would be well for his own reputation for him to cease operations in this State. I think he will act on the suggestion. If he does not I may have to shoot again.

Again thanking you for your very great kindness to me in this matter, I beg to remain,

Very truly yours,
