At a Special Court held at the Court House in Edenton in the County of Chowan in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven for the summery Tryall of Negroe Moses by Virtue of an Act of Assembly of the Province abovesaid Entituled an Act for tryall of Slaves Committing offences Crimes and Misdeameanors.

Joseph Blount Esquire Sheriff—

The Court met and Qualified according to Law and Proceeded regularly to the tryall of the Negroe Slave Moses aforementioned.

And Upon his Arraignment he plead not Guilty.

The Court upon Consideration find the aforesaid Negroe Moses the Property of John Campbell Esquire Guilty of the felony laid to his Charge and do Order the said Negroe Moses to be hanged by Joseph Blount Esquire High Sherriff of the County Between the Hours of five and six o'clock this present Evening being the Twenty Second Day of this Instant August in the year our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty seven at the Gallows in the Town of Edenton. The Court then proceeded to the Valuation of the aforesaid Negroe Slave, and Valued him in the sum of sixty Pounds Proclamation Money to be paid by the Publick
