Greeting
You are hereby Authorised and Ordered to Summon Three Justices of the Peace for said County & Four Freeholders Owners of Slaves to meet at the Court House on Monday the first day of December next at the Hour of Ten OClock in the forenoon, in order to hold a Court for the Trial of Negroe Grainge the property of Jennings Baker of Virginia for the attrocious Crime of endeavouring to Stir up the Slaves for the Diabolical purpose of Murdering their Masters and Mistresses, and for so doing this shall be your sufficient Authority Given under my hand at Edenton this 30th. day of Novr. 1783.
