The Court upon the Application of William Campbell Esqr. for the Valuing a negro fellow named Cudgo belonging to the said William, who had been run away, and thereupon had been Outlawed Agreeable to Law, and upon being taken, the said Negro Cudgo Jumped off the Bridge made over the North East river of Cape Fear, into said River and was drowned. And upon Examination of William Jones upon Oath, respecting the Value of the said Negro, They are of Opinion that the said Negro man be Valued at Eighty Pounds Proclamation Money. And Ordered that a Certificate be prepared accordingly to lay before the General Assembly for their final Allowance of the said Sum—
