Hezekiah Hough was born in Virginia in about 1734. He became a resident of Northampton County, North Carolina by 1762. A local justice of the peace, he served on the freeholders court which heard cases involving enslaved people. In 1787 Hough moved to Anson County, North Carolina, where he died in October 1817.
