Polly Geane was born in Chatham County, North Carolina in about 1778. The daughter of a Revolutionary War veteran, Polly Geane died sometime before her brother William applied for a Revolutionary War pension application in 1846. While the application makes several references to Polly having died long ago, a specific date is never given.
