Mary Clark was born in Randolph County, North Carolina on February 2, 1792. In 1816 she married William Jones and the couple had many children together. A Quaker, Mary moved to Indiana, likely in an attempt to escape North Carolina's restrictive laws against Quakers, by 1840. Her brother John applied for a veteran's pension in 1845 on behalf of their father, which was rejected. Mary Jones died in Monroe County, Indiana on September 27, 1875.
