Alexander Clark was born in Randolph County, North Carolina, on November 21, 1785. His brother John applied for a veteran's pension in 1845 on behalf of their father, which was rejected. A Quaker, Clark moved to Indiana, likely to escape laws that had restricted the Quakers in North Carolina by 1818. He died in Orange County, Indiana on August 6, 1853.
