​​​​​​Born the 23rd of August 1729 Memucan Hunt served in various positions in local government throughout his adult life. He served in the North Carolina Assembly under various positions and acted as a delegate for the Second, through Fifth Provincial Congresses. He went on to become a senator in the General Assembly and the first state treasurer of North Carolina. He died at the age of 79 in 1808.
